Jeevu Bai (91), wife of renowned Science writer Prof. J.R. Lakshman Rao, passed away this morning at a private hospital in city following a brief illness. Prof. Rao had predeceased her on Dec.29, 2017.

A resident of Saraswathipuram here, she leaves behind her son J.L. Anil Kumar and three daughters, Brinda Nagaraj, Vidya Shankar and Anuradha Rao and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held  at the foot of Chamundi Hill tomorrow afternoon. Jeevu Bai graduated from University of Mysore in 1948. She has translated a biography of Charles Darwin and the autobiography of Leopold Infeld — ‘Quest’ — Shodha into Kannada.
