JK Tyre employees donate record quantity of blood

Mysore/Mysuru: A mega blood donation camp, organised by JK Tyre and Industries Ltd., Mysuru, in association with Lions Blood Centre Jeevadhara and K.R. Hospital Blood Bank, to commemorate the 91st birth anniversary of its former Chairman late Hari Shankar Singhania, was held at four locations in city recently.

The camp was held at JK Tyre and Industries Ltd., Vikrant Tyre Plant-1 (Training Centre) on KRS Road in Metagalli; JK Tyre and Industries Ltd., Truck Radial Plant-2 (Training Centre) at Hebbal Industrial Area; JK Tyre and Industries Ltd., OTR Tyre Plant – 3 (Training Centre), next to Sider Forge Company and at JK Guest House, near Nirmala Convent in VV Puram.

The camp held under the guidance of CII Mysuru Zone Chairman and Vice-President (Works), JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., Mysuru, V. Eswara Rao, saw about 1,300 employees donating their blood for a noble cause.

Speaking after inaugurating the camp, CII Mysuru Zone Vice-Chairman and Senior Director at AT&S India Pvt. Ltd., Santosh Gundapi, said that thousands of employees, public and students as a gratitude to late Hari Shankar Singhania, have a tradition of donating blood every year, which is laudable.

R. Jagadish of JK Tyre and Industries’ IR and EHS Division, who too spoke, said that the bond between employees and the organisation strengthens by organising such blood donation camps in industries. Also, such blood donation camps will be helpful for those seeking blood during emergencies. Lions Blood Centre Jeevadhara Managing Director S.E. Girish also spoke.

Ravindra, Nagaraj, Srinath, Ashwath Raj, Donald, Poornima, Labour Wing office-bearers Chandan, Channakeshava, Ashok, Dadapeer, Shivakumar, Kantharaju, Ravikumar and others were present.
