Josephites grab medals, trophies in various sports

The students of St. Joseph’s First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysuru, put up a spectacular display at the Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Chamundi Zone Tournament organised by the University of Mysore (UoM) in association with SBRR Mahajana College and emerged champions of the Basketball Tournament.

They also bagged the Hockey Championship at the Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Chamundi Zone Tournament organised by the UoM in collaboration with Seshadripuram Degree College qualifying themselves to play at the Inter-Collegiate Inter- Zonal Tournaments.

Additionally, the college team was declared winner of the Handball Competition organised as part of the Mysore City Inter-Collegiate Tournament 2023-24 held at MIT Engineering College, Kesare.

Apart from this, they have clinched a total of 12 medals at the Karate and Kickboxing Competitions held as part of the Tournament conducted by the UoM and Seshadripuram Degree College. The students have won 5 medals in Karate and 6 medals in Kickboxing. The following is the list of winners from the college: M.S. Preetham – 1 gold medal (Kickboxing) and 1 gold medal (Karate); M.S. Pavan – 1 gold (Kickboxing) and 1 bronze (Karate); Chethan – 1 silver and 1 bronze (Karate); K. Vinay – 1 gold (Kickboxing); Nithin – 1 silver (Kickboxing); Durga Bhavani – 1 gold (Kickboxing); Kaveramma – 1 gold and 1 silver (Karate); Lekhan – 1 silver (Karate).
