JSS AHER holds National Integration Camp

Mysuru: The Department of Youth Empowerment & Sports and JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), under the umbrella of National Service Scheme (NSS), had jointly organised a week-long National Integration Camp (NIC) at JSS College of Pharmacy recently.

In his inaugural address, G.S. Jayadev, Secretary, Deenabandhu Trust, Chamarajanagar, said, “Great Saint Basaveshwara, who advocated revolutionary changes in the 12th century, is the model for today’s youth. Thus the message we give to the world is unity in diversity and tolerance attitude of Indians.”

A.N. Pujar, Regional Director, NSS Regional Directorate, Bengaluru, highlighted the NSS activities and spoke about importance of NSS integration camps.

JSS AHER Registrar Dr. B. Manjunath called on the NSS volunteers to come out of mobiles and gadgets and told them to talk with friends and family members.

JSS AHER Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, in his Presidential address, said that the youths are in their imaginary world and they are not realising their own potentials. But by participating in NIC they may realise its importance to the society. He explained these things with a story of Trishanku.

Dr. K.L. Krishna, NSS Prog. Coordinator, JSS AHER, briefed about NIC activities.

Dr. T.M. Promod Kumar, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Raghu Ram Achar, NSS Programme Officer, JSS University, proposed a vote of thanks.

More than 150 NSS Volunteers, Camper Dr. M.P. Gowrav, NSS Programme Officers from different regions of the country like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, Kerala, Pondicherry and Karnataka participated in the NIC. More than 20 University’s NSS volunteers and officers also participated.
