Mysuru: JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Villa College, Maldives, the country’s premier private institution with reputable global ranking.
Villa College is the first private higher education institution established in 2007 and educates over 3,500 students in health sciences, education, business, IT and social sciences.
The MoU was signed at JSS AHER by Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER and Dr. Ali Najeeb, Vice Rector, Villa College. The visiting delegation comprised Abdul Munnim Mohamed Manik, Deputy Vice Rector, Administration & Finance; Dr. Aishath Nasheeda, Head of School and Director, VCare Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre; Margret Vijay, Director, Global Ranking Data Management & Analytics; Aishath Mala, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences; and Dr. Mano Priya Vijayan, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences.
The agreement marks JSS AHER’s first academic partnership in the Republic of Maldives and opens a new chapter in the University’s engagement with the wider Indian Ocean region.
Dr. D. Devananda, Deputy Dean (Academics), welcomed. Dr. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor and Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, spoke on the MoU’s scope.
Dr. Ali Najeeb spoke on behalf of the visiting delegation. Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta, Dean (Academics), presented JSS AHER’s academic profile, faculties and research strengths. Dr. B. Shivaramakrishnan, Assistant Dean (Academics), briefed on MoU. N. Harshith, Coordinator – CDOE, proposed the vote of thanks.
The two institutions will collaborate on student and faculty mobility, joint curriculum development, co-supervision of Master’s and doctoral candidates and collaborative research and publications.
The initial areas of focus will be pharmacy, public health, management and allied health sciences, with scope to extend the partnership to other disciplines of mutual interest.
