Mysuru: The JSS Hospital in city has been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), said JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Besturmath, here on Wednesday.
Addressing the media persons at Sri Rajendra Centenary Auditorium of JSS Hospital, he said that NABH accreditation was the highest benchmark for Hospitals in the country as it was an institutional member of International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) as well as member of its Board and Accreditation Council.
The main objective of NABH was to enhance healthcare system and to promote continuous quality care and patient safety.
JSS Hospital was initially set up in 1974 as a primary health care centre and in 1984 it was upgraded to a 60-bedded hospital. Later, it was converted into a 1,200 bed Hospital.
Not restricting itself to the 1,200-bed hospital, the JSS Mahavidyapeetha decided to further expand the hospital to provide latest healthcare services to the people as per the ambitions of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji and the new 1,800-bedded multi-speciality hospital was constructed and the same was dedicated to the people of Mysuru region by the then President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
