Orientation for Security Staff at KR and Cheluvamba Hospitals

July 20, 2019

Mysuru:  The KR and Cheluvamba Hospitals Administration Board has decided to strengthen security measures around the Hospital.

In view of this, Devaraja Police Station Inspector Prasannakumar and Sub-Inspector Raju addressed nearly 100 Security Guards on how to control violent incidents, attacks by public and avert other untoward incidents that may occur at the Hospital premises, at an orientation session in K.R. Hospital auditorium, here recently.

Security Guards must be stationed in designated place wearing uniforms. They should compulsorily be present 24 hours a day where more patients congregate like near the Out Patient Department (OPD), Accident Ward, Emergency Ward, Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedic, Urology Department, X-ray, scanning and such other Departments.

Besides, there will be large presence of people near the parking lot, drug dispensary centre and near IPD-OPD (new building) and hence the security personnel must be present here all the time, suggested Prasannakumar.

The personnel must be alert regarding pick-pockets, snatching gold chains and mobile phones and escaping, stealing chappals and shoes placed outside the ICUs, he said.

The Guards should conduct themselves politely with the patients and their relatives, with doctors and hospital staff and also give proper information to the public and when they sense an untoward incident occurring they must immediately bring it to the notice of the Police and the Hospital authorities, advised Prasannakumar.

Medical Superintendent Dr. B.L. Nanjundaswamy, RMO Dr. M.S. Rajesh Kumar, Security Supervisor Mahadevu, Mahadevaswamy and others were present.
