Jungle Lodges safari vehicle driver killed in road accident

Mysore/Mysuru: A driver of the safari vehicle of Jungle Lodges and Resorts was killed when a vegetable-laden mini truck rammed into his bike at Antharasanthe Zone in Nagarahole Reserve Forest on Sunday evening.

The deceased is Chotu (35), a resident of Karapura, who was working as the safari vehicle driver at Jungle Lodges and Resorts of the Tourism Department at Karapura in H.D. Kote taluk.

On Sunday evening, Chotu was proceeding from Jungle Lodges towards Antharasanthe, when a mini truck from Mysuru to Kerala rammed into the bike Chotu was riding resulting in him suffering from serious injuries.

Chotu was rushed to H.D. Kote General Hospital, where he was provided treatment initially and was later shifted to a private hospital in Mysuru where he succumbed to injuries yesterday, according to Police.

Antharasanthe Police, who have registered a case, seized both the vehicles. Last rites were performed at Karapura today, according to family sources.
