K. Hemmanahalli Annual Jathra

Mysore/Mysuru: On account of Mahashivarathri, ancient Hoysala period (1188 AD) Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, K. Hemmanahalli, Mysuru, renovated by Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Dharmothana Trust (in 1994), has organised a grand 28th Annual Jathra Festival on Mar. 1. From 6 am on Mar. 1 to 6 am on Mar. 2, Rudrabhisheka, Alankara and Prasada Viniyoga will be conducted once in every three hours.

Devotees can themselves perform Abhisheka to the ancient linga. They have to bring water and required items. From 10 am onwards, general public will present their talents like rangageethe, folk songs, dance etc.

In the evening, artistes of Sri Mahalingeshwara Krupa Poshitha Nataka Mandali, K. Hemmanahalli, will stage mythological play ‘Shivakumara mattu Valli Parinaya’ from 8 pm till sunrise the next day (Mar. 2).
