K. Marigowda seeks support to secure MUDA properties

June 15, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: In order to alleviate the general public perception that MUDA properties are being grabbed by unscrupulous persons, MUDA Chairman K. Marigowda has asked the officials to secure all landed properties of MUDA in and around the city.

Addressing a meeting of officials at MUDA Office on JLB Road here yesterday, Marigowda said that MUDA has been established with the objective of functioning as per ‘No Profit, No Loss’. But it seems that of late, MUDA is treading in the opposite direction of this motto for which the lack of co-ordination between officials are  to be blamed.

Maintaining that there seems to be lack of co-ordination between three key sections of MUDA — Technical Wing, City Planning Division and Land Acquisition Section, Marigowda cautioned the officials against any inconvenience to the public due to official apathy.

“MUDA officials must update on all landed properties of MUDA including stray sites, stray houses, vacant sites in residential layouts, rented or leased out landed properties or buildings etc. The officials must also give inputs and guidelines on allotment of CA (Civic Amenities) sites and the applicants seeking these sites. At the same time, officials must focus on providing civic amenities in all MUDA Layouts”, he said  while also stressing the need for improving infrastructure in layouts coming under MUDA.

He further said that the authorities must come up with a report on new plans and projects, which will be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister for approval.

MUDA Commissioner G.T. Dineshkumar raised the issue of handing over MUDA Layouts to the MCC after collecting GST and other taxes.

In response, Marigowda asked the officials to come up with complete information about the matter. He also directed the  Planning Division to mandatorily seek the co-operation of the technical wing while approving layouts and  asked the officials to be punctual and to introduce bio-metric system of staff attendance.

“The officials must carry out a tour of localities at 8.30 am on June 18 in order to have first-hand information about the shortcomings. The officials must also visit 2 zones every day by travelling in the MUDA’s mini bus for gathering comprehensive information on what needs to be done more,” he said.

He also said that an official delegation must be taken out to meet the Chief Minister seeking approval for acquisition of 485 acres land at Ballahalli and 165 acres of land at Bommenahalli for formation of layouts.

Town Planner Member Shivaram, SE Dharmendra, MUDA Secretary Shekar and other                officials were present.
