K.V. Murthy to be conferred Sarvashreshta Kalaposhaka title

Mysuru: Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC) Trust, Mysuru, has organised a function to felicitate art patron K.V. Murthy for his outstanding service to art and culture.

The function will be held  on Jan. 17 at 6 pm at Jaganmohan  Palace auditorium in city in the presence of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt. 

R. Guru, CMD of Ranga Rao & Sons, will inaugurate the function. K.B. Ganapathy, Editor-in-Chief, Star of Mysore, will preside. Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoi of Mangalore Ganesh Beedi Works, will be the chief guest.

After felicitation to  K.V. Murthy with Sarvashreshta Kalaposhaka title for his yeomen service, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will present a solo Bharatanatyam (in Vasundhara Bani) — some of the hand-picked items that are favourites to Murthy. All art-lovers may attend the event.

Being an engineer and top executive of India’s one of the renowned firms, he had a very lucrative career leading a comfortable life.  But he did not and has not forgotten to serve the society, be it social, religious promotion of art and culture and paying attention to the needs of needy.

Recognising his contribution, Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysore Chapter, had presented him “Engineer Par Excellence” award.

Suttur Mutt has involved Murthy in JSS Sangeetha Sabha and also who conferred Sangeetha Sevanidhi title on him. Recognising his services towards culture, 22 Sabhas of Mysuru honoured him with Kalaseva Ratna title.
