Mysuru:  With the BJP denying him the ticket to contest from Chamarajanagar (SC) seat, former MP Kagalawadi Shivanna quit the party and re-joined the Congress.

Shivanna who was earlier with the Congress, had joined the BJP just before the Nanjangud Assembly by-polls in 2017. After joining the BJP, he was eyeing the party ticket from Chamarajanagar LS seat. But as the BJP gave the ticket to senior party leader V. Sreenivasa Prasad, a miffed Shivanna quit the party and rejoined the Congress in the presence of former CM Siddharamaiah, KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao, former Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and other Congress leaders .
