Kalale V. Venkatesh (81), retired Taluk Panchayat Development Officer and a resident of Kalale in the taluk, passed away on Tuesday night at his residence following brief illness.

A senior leader of 24 Mane Telugu Shetty community at Kalale, he leaves behind his wife, one son, four daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Kalale Burial Grounds, according to family sources.
