Bharatanatyam Competition, Awards Ceremony, Lecture-Demonstration and Prize Distribution
Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, has organised the 28th International Nirantara Kalemane Festival, Kalemane International-level Bharatanatyam Competition, Kalemane Kalaratna Award Ceremony, Lecture-Demonstration and Prize Distribution, at Kalemane Sabhaangana in Vijayanagar on Oct. 1 from 9 am to 6 pm.
The inauguration of the Kalemane Festival will be done by Guru Dr. Bhuvaneshwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Dance, SSUHE, Chikkaballapura, Guru Vidushi M.B. Nagashree, Director of Shree Nataraja Performing Arts Centre, Mysuru and Guru Vidushi S. Sowmya Rani, Director, Sowmya Nrithya Shala, Chamundipuram, Mysuru. Guest of honour for the day will be H.N. Dinkar, Amateur Writer and Yoga Trainer.
‘Kalemane Kalaratna Award’ recipients are Guru Vidwan Chethan Gangatkar & Guru Vidushi Chandraprabha Chethan, Artistic Director, Natya Ninada Nrityalaya, Bengaluru; Guru Vidushi Samudhyatha Bhat, Bharatanatyam Artiste, Natyatharanga, Bengaluru and Vidwan Gururaj Vashisth, Artistic Director, Sudhindra Nritya Kalaniketana, Bengaluru. This will be followed by Lecture-Demonstration and performance.
Lec-Dem on the topic ‘Aesthetics of Kuchipudi’ by Guru Vidwan Chethan Gangatkar & Guru Vidushi Chandraprabha Chethan. Lec-Dem on ‘Adapting Nrtta Karanas of Natyasastra in Bharatanatyam’ by Guru Vidushi Samudhyatha Bhat. Bharatanatyam performance by disciples of Vidwan Gururaj Vashisth.
Moderators for the day are Vidushi Baija Rani, Research Scholar, Bengaluru, Vidushi Lakshmy Vinod, Research Scholar, Mysuru and Vidushi Anju Peter, Research Scholar.
Special invitees for the day are Guru Dr. P.M. Chethana Radhakrishna, Artistic Director, Gurudev Academy of Fine Arts, Mandya and Mysuru and Guru Vidushi Nrityakalamani Divya Prashanth, Artistic Director, Noopura Nrithyalaya, Mysuru.

The 29th International Nirantara Kalemane Festival and Kalemane Kalashree Award Ceremony are being held on Oct. 2 at Kalemane Sabhaangana from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Guest of honour for the day will be K. Harishgowda, MLA, Chamaraja Constituency.
‘Kalemane Kalashree Award’ recipients are Guru Vidwan G.B. Janardhana, Founder and Director, Natyatharanga, Sagara, Guru Vidwan C.R. Shivaprakash & Guru Vidushi Dr. Nandini Sivaprakash, Founders, Sri Anjana Nritya Kala Kendra, Chitradurga and Guru Vidwan G.S. Nagesh & Guru Vidushi Dr. Sriranjitha, Sree Natya Bharathi Trust.
This will be followed by performance and Lec-Dem by students of KPAC, Mysuru and disciples of Guru Karnataka Kalashree Prof. Dr. K. Kumar.
