Former MLA holds preliminary meeting

Mysuru: A preliminary meeting was held yesterday at Kaginele Mutt branch in Siddarthanagar here in view of the forthcoming Kanakadasa Jayanti under the aegis of Kanaka Jayanthotsava Samiti chaired by the Samiti President and former MLA  M.K. Somashekar.

Addressing the meeting, Somashekar said that Kanakadasa Jayanti will be celebrated on Nov.26 in association with the District Administration. He suggested the Samiti members to organise a grand procession involving tableaux focussing on eradication of superstition and on social leaders who contributed for reformation of society.

He also suggested to felicitate meritorious students and organise a ‘Dasa Sahitya’ programme at Jaganmohan Palace.

Samiti General Secretary Puttaswamy, Hon. President Krishnappa, Secretary M. Shivanna, Organising Secretary M.K. Shankar, Treasurer Nagaraj and others attended the meeting.
