Kannada and Culture ties up with CIIL Kanaja and Bharatavani websites interlinked

Kannada and Culture Director K.A. Dayananda (second from left) and CIIL Director D.G. Rao are seen exchanging the MoU at Rangayana premises this morning as Rangayana Deputy Director Nirmala Mathapathi and others look on.

Mysuru: In a significant move aimed   at cutting costs and saving time on projects, the Kannada and Culture Department and Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) have signed a  memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU was jointly signed by Kannada and Culture Director K.A. Dayananda and CIIL Director Dr. D.G. Rao at a programme at Rangayana this morning.

Until now, the Kannada and Culture Department was uploading all research projects and initiatives on Kannada language development, dictionaries etc., on its own website ‘Kanaja’ while the CIIL was separately uploading all of its Kannada Research on its own website ‘Bharatavani.’

But with the signing of MoU, the  Kannada and Culture Department will share information with CIIL and vice-versa, on all the research activities and projects undertaken by the two, so as to avoid duplication, thus saving valuable human resource, time and money.

According to the MoU, all information regarding language development, research and projects undertaken by both the bodies will  be uploaded on the interlinked website (Kanaja and Bharatavani) so that both the bodies will be aware of what the other will be doing, which largely helps in avoiding duplication of works carried out by them on Kannada language research, projects, initiatives etc.

With the  interlinking of the websites, the users can share information on a common platform and be aware of the works being carried out by both the bodies at any point of time.

‘Kanaja’ Editor T.G. Srinidhi, ‘Bharatavani’ Editor Belur Sudarshan, ‘Kanaja’ Content Consultant Jagannath Prakash, ‘Kanaja’ Co-oordinator  K.V. Radhakrishna and Rangayana Deputy Director Nirmala Mathapathi were present.
