Kannada Okkuta demands revival of Police Complaints Authority

May 20, 2018

Mysuru: Alleging that the Police Complaints Authority has been inactive for the past couple of years, Mysuru Kannada Okkuta has urged the Government to revive the Authority in order to provide justice to the complainants.

Addressing a press meet here this morning, the Okkuta Convenor Rajesh Godi alleged that most of the Police Stations were taking their own time in granting permissions for staging protests, demonstrations, etc.

Stating that staging of protests was a fundamental right of every citizen, he urged the Police Department for speedy issuance of permission for staging the demonstration.

Okkuta’s Arvind Sharma, Mahadevaswamy and others led the protest.
