Mysuru, Nov. 2 (VNS)- Prakruthi R. Gowda, a final year BBA  student at JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram, was felicitated by Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji in recognition of her achievements at international-level in karate recently.

Prakruthi, taking part in the 6th International Karate Championship held at Shivamogga earlier this year, had won gold in kata and kumite and silver in kumite team event. The team also won team championship and Prakruthi qualified to officiate matches at international-level.

Adding to her achievements is gold medal in kata and kumite (black belt category) at 2nd National Championship held at Hampi in February 2025, gold in 5th International Karate Championship in 2024, gold in Republic Day Cup held at Shivamogga in 2024 and gold in kata and kumite (black belt category) at the District-level karate championship. She also got the title ‘Miss Karate of Shivamogga.’ She was a recipient of Taluk Rajyotsava award during 69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations by Bhadravathi Taluk Administration.
