Karnatak Keyboard Extravaganza by Dr. K.T. Udayakiran on Mar. 18

 The 48th music concert of Raaga features Vid. Dr. K.T. Udayakiran on the Keyboard, at Prajna Kuteera Ayurveda Centre, Kuvempunagar, in city on Saturday (Mar. 18) at 5.30 pm.

Dr. Udayakiran, a faculty in vocal music at the College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore, is a Ph.D in Music and a Gold medallist. This multifaceted artiste learnt vocal music from Vid. Raghavendra and Vidu. Pushpa Srinivasan. He learnt violin from the veteran Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and mridanga from Vid. N. Madappa. A ‘B High’ graded artiste of AIR & DD, he has won many scholarships and awards, both as a main artiste and an accompanist.

The scholarly Udayakiran has also presented papers at the National and International level music conferences. He has composed various Fusions, Ensembles and Signature Music.

He has accompanied on violin & keyboard for concerts and albums, presented Lec-Dems on various topics like Improvisation in Karnatak Classical Music, Ragam-Thanam-Pallavi, Fusion Music, Intricate Concepts of Indian & Western Music.

Dr. Udayakiran has performed in prestigious Sabhas in India and abroad, the Mysore Palace Durbar Hall, Sri Sathya Sai Baba Ashram, Puttaparthi, Sringeri Shankara Mutt, Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam, Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Ashrama and various TV channels.

On Saturday, he is being accompanied by two accomplished artistes Vid. C.N. Thyagarajan on the violin and Vid. Tumakuru B. Ravishankar on the mridanga.

A talk on ‘Healthy living through Ayurveda and Yoga’ by Dr. N.V. Krishnamurthy precedes the concert between 4.30 pm and 5.15 pm.
