Karnataka State Schools Chess U-14 Girls Tourney: Bengaluru girl Renganayaki triumphs

Prasiddhi Bhat of Mysuru finishes fourth

AGM Renganayaki and Chaya C. Poojary tied with 5 points each from six rounds, but the former’s better tie-break score of 17.5 to the latter’s 16, helped her to clinch the title in the Karnataka State Schools U-14 Girls Chess Championship 2019, played at Bengaluru recently. Mysuru’s Prasiddhi Bhat finished fourth with 4.5 points from six rounds.

In the U-10 girls tourney, Mysuru’s Yashika R. Joshi from St. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, secured 4.5 points from six rounds and finished a creditable sixth.

Final Placings

Girls U-14: 1. AGM Renganayaki 5 (17.5), 2. Chaya C. Poojary 5 (16), 3. Manasa 4.5 (19), 4. Prasiddhi Bhat 4.5 (18) and 5. Dhanyath Cory 4 (17.5).
