Karnataka State U-19 Chess Open & Girls Championship: Yashaskara Jois, Manasa in lead

Mysuru’s chess players K.R. Yashaskara Jois and H.R. Manasa lead the field in the Open and Girls U-19 sections respectively with 5.5 points from 6 rounds, in the Karnataka State U-19 Open and Girls Chess Championships 2017 being held at Kalaburagi yesterday.

In the open section, Yashaskara Jois (MYS) and Nitish Bhat (Sirsi) are tied with 5.5 points from six rounds and are placed first and second in the ranking. Five players are tied with 5 points and are placed from three to seven in the rankings.

In the Girls U-19 section, former State women’s champion H.R. Manasa of Mysuru is in the lead with 5.5 points. Two players -Kruti Gangadkar and Rajashree with 5 points from six rounds are in the second and third places respectively.
