Karthik Kate is ‘Dasara Kanteerava’

Dasara Traditional Wrestling Championship ended with Karthik Kate of Davanagere being crowned as ‘Dasara Kanteerava’.  The intense bout between Karthik Kate and Shivaprasad of Belagavi went on for about 30 mins during which both wrestlers were involved in just pushing each other.

Later, the organisers organised point wrestling to decide on the winner in which Karthik Kate emerged victorious.  In the 86kg category, Satish Padathare of Dharwad defeated his brother Sunil Padathare to win the ‘Dasara Kesari’ title. Meanwhile, Siddanna Patil of Belagavi won the ‘Dasara Kumara’ title defeating Riyaz Mulla of Mudhol. Srinivas of Davanagere won the ‘Dasara Kumara’ title.

Results: 57kg category: 1. Praveen Kulambi, 2. Gangadhar, 3. Roopesh. 61kg category: 1. Prabhakar Dalke, 2. Vishu Palke, 3. Sachin Samboji and Venkatesh. 65kg category: 1. Ravi Kempannanavar, 2. Sadashiva Nalawade, 3. Akash and Mahesh Tabaj.
