KAT stays cancellation of  Basavegowda as MCDCC Bank Director

July 7, 2017

Mysuru: The Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) has stayed the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies’ (Mysuru Zone) order removing C. Basavegowda as   Director of the MCDCC Bank.

Yachenahalli PLD Bank President Y.N. Shankaregowda had petitioned the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies, seeking the  removal of Basavegowda as MCDCC Bank Director, on the ground that Basavegowda has illegally contested the MCDCC poll by falsely claiming that he (Basavegowda) was a resident of Rangasamudra PLD Bank Jurisdiction.  The Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Mysuru Zone) Court which heard the petition on June 13, cancelled Basavegowda’s  election as MCDCC Bank Director. Later, Basavegowda moved the KAT, questioning his disqualification as MCDCC Bank Director.  KAT which heard Basavegowda’s plea stayed the Joint Registrar’s order while posting the next hearing to Aug. 10.
