Kaveri Nisargadhama open for tourists

Kushalnagar -The Kaveri Nisargadhama that was closed for tourists since the last 20 days opened its gates today. The tourist spot had been closed for renovation works.

Nisargadhama is an island formed by River Cauvery recruitmentand is located 2 kms off the State Highway from Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. The sprawling 64-acre nature resort includes a deer park, orchidarium, and elephant and boat ride facilities. The place can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge.

According to Forest Department, that runs and maintains the resort, the place had to be closed to repair the hanging bridge and the works on the main entrance. Sullia-based Manjunath Engineering works have undertaken the repair works. As all the repair works are nearing completion, the Department has decided to open the Nisargadhama for tourists, said RFO Nehru.
