Bengaluru: As a part of the 6th series of Jnanpith Awardees programme, ‘Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy Rashtriya Kala Pratibhotsava’ will be held for two days at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru. A Kavigoshti  (Poets Meet), under the title ‘Kavigala Kannalli Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy’ will be held on Aug. 11, from 2 pm to 5 pm to mark the occasion.

The poems should have Dr. Ananthamurthy’s  life, writings, ideology, films, novels, struggles and his social concerns as their content and they should not be more than 20 lines per page. The duration for reading poems will be 5 minutes (poems of eulogising will be rejected).

The organisation Vishweshwaraiah Pratishtana has already organised 10 Poets Meet under 10 different Meet Presidents and all the poems recited have been published already under the titles ‘Kavigala Kannalli Vishweshwaraiah’ and ‘Bahujanara Kavitegalu.’Another edition of the poems will be published at the end of this year and the poems recited during this function and others received directly will be included in the next edition.

Information about Poets Meet has already been sent to many poets and there is provision to send poems directly. The poets selected for Kavigoshti will be felicitated the same evening by conferring Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy Kavya Puraskara or Karunada Kanmani Kaviratna State Awards.
