Keep a check on autos with expired documents

November 27, 2017

Sir,

Recently I found an auto jumping the signals and driving cutting across all the incoming vehicles at a busy junction, risking the lives of the motorists following the traffic rules.

This auto was not in a good condition and when I logged into a Central Government website to track the vehicles, I was shocked to note that the said auto had fitness certificate up to 1992 and insurance upto 1996 (insurance without fitness).

The Traffic Police and the RTO should embark on a special drive against such autos. I am sure that there will be many more such unfit autorickshaws on the city roads. These rickshaws violate all the basic rules and risk the lives of other motorists.
