Mysore: The 516th birth anniversary of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda will be celebrated in city and across the State on June 27.
Two colourfully decorated publicity vehicles of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations were flagged off by Sri Somanatheshwara Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Mysuru Branch, at a function held at Bandanthamma Temple premises in Kuvempunagar here this morning. Also, posters of the celebrations were released.
Of the two publicity vehicles, one will traverse across the four Assembly Constituencies in city while the other will move around in rural areas urging people to participate in the celebrations.
On June 27 morning, a colourful procession will mark the commencement of the celebrations which will start in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.

The aim of the publicity vehicles is to ensure that the birth anniversary of Kempegowda is celebrated by all sections of the society as a tribute to the former ruler of Bengaluru, who during his reign, had initiated several measures for the well-being of all sections of society.
MLAs G.T. Devegowda and K. Harishgowda, former MP Prathap Simha, President of the Jayanti Celebrations Committee Prashanth Gowda, former President of District Vokkaligara Sangha Vikrant P. Devegowda and others were present during the launch of the publicity vehicles.
