Kendra Sahitya Academy Awards announced

New Delhi: The Union Government on Wednesday announced Kendra Sahitya Academy awards, according to which two Kannadigas have got the award. Dadapeer Jayman of Hagaribommanahalli (H.B.Halli) in Vijayanagar district has bagged the ‘Yuva Sahitya’ award while Thammanna Beegaara of Siddapur in Sirsi taluk of Uttar Kannada district has bagged the ‘Bala Sahitya’ award for the year 2022.

Dadapeer got the award for his work ‘Neelakurinji’, a collection of stories, while Thammana secured the award for his children’s novel ‘Bavali Guhe’. While ‘Neelakurinji’ is published by Vaishnavi Prakashana at K.Gudadinni town in Raichur district, ‘Bavali Guhe’ is published by Bengaluru’s ‘Abhinava Prakashana’.

Both the awards carry a cash prize of Rs.50,000 and a Citation.
