Kerala bizman waylaid, robbed

Begur: A Kerala-based businessman was robbed of Rs. 15,000 cash by a gang of miscreants after waylaying the car.  The incident took place between Belachawadi and Horeyala Gate in H.D. Kote taluk on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Arshad Ali, who runs a chips factory near Kotekere. The incident occurred while he was returning in a car with his friend, Chinnaswamy after completing business. While he was passing through Belachawadi and Horeyala Gate in the car, eight persons, who came in three cars, hit the car with iron rods, threw chilli  powder on Arshad and his friend  and took away Rs.15,000 cash kept in dash board. The robbers are said to be from Kerala as they were conversing in Malayalam. Superintendent of Police R. Chethan visited the spot.

Begur Police have registered a case and are investigating.
