Bengaluru: All eyes are on the crucial Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting in the State capital this afternoon as it is expected to be a true test of State Congress leaders and their ability to keep their house in order, even as the party is apprehensive that those learning towards the BJP may not show up.
The CLP meeting is scheduled to take place at Vidhana Soudha conference hall at 3.30 pm.
The meeting called by CLP leader and former CM Siddharamaiah is taking place after some party MLAs, sulking over not being inducted into the Coalition Government, are alleged to have weaned away towards BJP.
However, some of the sulking party MLAs are said to have returned on Thursday expressing allegiance to the party.
The answer to whether the party has managed the crisis from within will emerge only when all the disgruntled MLAs turn up at the CLP meet.
In the face of a strict warning by Siddharamaiah to initiate action under the anti-defection law against those legislators who skip the meeting, many rebel MLAs resurfaced on Thursday evening pledging support to the party. Meanwhile, after days of political drama, BJP MLAs who are currently holed up in a resort in Gurugram, Haryana, too are set to return by Friday evening or Saturday, it is learnt.
