Khata transfer fees: MCC need to clarify

April 12, 2022

Sir,

During my recent visit to the MCC Zonal Office to get Khata transferred to my name, I was informed by the official to pay 0.5% of the property value towards Khata transfer fees. Whereas, the rule says the fees should be 2% of the Stamp Duty (sourced from the website).

There is a huge discrepancy and confusion on the charges and we would like to know from the MCC senior officials as to what is the exact way to determine the Khata transfer charges. Please make this official to eliminate any kind of fraud to the gullible tax-payers and also make the Khata transfer procedure online for better transparency.
