Mysuru: The Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), coming under University of Mysore (UoM) and located in Manasagangothri campus, has got its own logo encrypted with the words ‘Kannadave Sathya, Kannadave Nithya’ as a befitting tribute to Kuvempu, in whose name the Institute has been established.
KIKS, established in 1966, has marked its 60th anniversary with the launch of this own logo. The entrance arch of the Institute, now bears this new logo on one side and that of UoM on the other side. The new logo is two-and-a-half feet in height. Apart from the logo, the Institute’s entry gate is fitted with LED lights, which attracts the passersby.
The phrase ‘Kannadave Sathya, Kannadave Nithya’ is scripted by Poet Laureate Kuvempu, who sent out his famed ‘Vishwamanava’ message to the entire world.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, KIKS Director Prof. Nanjaiah Honganur said that the launch of the logo on the 60th anniversary of the Institute is a tribute to Kuvempu.
Maintaining that the new logo doubles up the celebration, he said the works on the inscription of the logo is completed and it will be installed in a couple of days.
Pointing out that KIKS has launched several programmes to mark the Centenary of Nadageethe, he said there are plans for setting up of a Kuvempu Gallery, featuring rare photographs of the Rashtrakavi. KIKS is also engaged in reaching out Kuvempu’s services to Kannada to the entire population, he added.
