Kittur Rani Chennamma Jayanti will be celebrated by the District Administration on Oct. 28 at Maneyangala in Kalamandira at 11 am. A preliminary meeting of the officials  in this regard was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, here on Tuesday. Presiding over the meeting, Additional DC B.R. Poornima said that the Jayanti celebrations would be a low-key affair owing to flood situation in the State.  The funds released for the celebrations would be handed over to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Officials, members of various organisations also opined that floods had caused severe damage to lives and properties in the State and it would be an apt decision to utilise the funds for the relief works.
