ZAK Chairman Mahadevaswamy participates
Mysore/Mysuru: Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairman L.R. Mahadevaswamy participated in ‘Prani Pakshi Seva Jagruthi,’ a campaign to feed stray dogs in city during the current lockdown period on Saturday.
This has been launched by KMPK Charitable Trust since last 38 days. As part of this campaign, Mahadevaswamy fed the stray dogs near Maharaja’s College Grounds on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said people were safe staying at home but the stray animals were facing problems for want of food. Keeping this in mind, the Trust has been feeding milk and milk mixed rice to the stray dogs in different parts of city.
“Let us feed animals in our surroundings at least once a day. Keep earthen pots or plates filled with water to quench the thirst of birds. It is also our duty to protect birds and animals along with the concern for environment,” Mahadevaswamy said.
KMPK Charitable Trust President Vikram Iyengar said, they have been feeding stray dogs with milk, milk mixed rice, bread, egg and biscuit near Maharaja’s College Ground, foot of Chamundi Hill and other places in city.
This endeavour will continue till lockdown is lifted. If citizens spot any stray animals, they can call Mob: 98807-52727 for help.
