Kodagu DC directs officials to take up development works

October 12, 2020

Madikeri: Taking serious note of the stalled development works around the old private bus stand at Madikeri, Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy directed the officials to expedite the works.

She was speaking at the progress review meeting of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) at Madikeri City Municipal Council Hall here on Wednesday.

Directing the officials to issue a new work order for completion of pending works which  are lying in limbo for the past three years, the DC asked the concerned officials to build  protective walls around the SP Office and Indira Canteen. The DC also directed for sheltering Virajpet’s Aiyappa Hills displaced persons and to expedite all pending  works being taken up under Nagarothana Scheme.

Noting that officials must bring to the notice of the higher authorities  and  the local Legislators on the changes that are required to be made in the execution of the works, she said that the Urban Planning Director should inspect the spots and submit a status report. Calling for co-ordination between all Departments, Offices and Engineers, the DC asked the officials to complete all development works within a set time-frame.

Kodagu Medical College faculty Dr. Mahesh came up with suggestions for more effective COVID-19 control measures in the district.

Madikeri CMC Commissioner S.V. Ramdas, Virajpet Town Panchayat Development Officer Sridhar, Kushalnagar Officer Sujay, Somwarpet Officer Nachappa, Engineers Nataraju, Nagaraju, Vanitha and Ajay and a host of officials were present.
