Kodagu JD(S) sets Nov.1 deadline for Minister’s resignation

October 30, 2017

Virajpet:  The Kodagu District JD(S) has set Nov.1 deadline for the resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George who has been named as the first accused (A1) in the FIR registered by the CBI in connection with the suicide case  of Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, District JD(S) president Sanketh Poovaiah said that the JD(S) will stage an indefinite stir from Nov. 2, if the Minister does not  resign by Nov. 1.

Alleging that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah was shielding George, Poovaiah said that CID had given a clean chit to the Minister and two Senior Police officers. But now, the Supreme Court has ordered a CBI probe based on a petition by deceased Ganapathy’s family members, he said and questioned the Minister’s continuance in  the State Cabinet.

He further said that the JD(S) was with Ganapathy’s family members and would not give up the fight until justice is done in the case.
