Kodagu Mahila Sangha hosts Food Fest

Hundreds of Kodava women took part in the ‘Fun Fair and Food Fest’ organised by the City’s Shree Kaveri Kodagu Mahila Sangha at Kodava Samaja, Vijayanagar 1st Stage here this morning. Prof. K.C. Belliappa, Chairman of Sree Cauvery Educational Institutions, Kuvempunagar, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

The event featured a number of stalls exhibiting and selling a variety of gift articles, artificial jewellery, terracotta jewellery, handicrafts, bags, ready-mix food masala, pain relief oils and many other items.

The event also featured a cooking competition for the Sangha members, with the theme ‘Chittani Puttu and other Kodava Puttus,’ wherein the participants were required to bring and display the food items along with the recipe.

A number of mouth-watering vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were on offer at the Food Fest.

Various games such as musical chair, lucky dip, breaking the pot, darts game and many more entertainment games were also held as part of the event.

The proceeds of the event will be utilised for extending financial aid to deserving students, for conducting free medical camps and for other schemes of the Sangha.

Later in the afternoon, K. Thara Belliappa, who was the guest of honour, distributed prizes to the winners.

Sangha President Jerry Ponnappa, Vice-President Bollu Kuttappa, Secretary Kavya Kuttappa, Treasurer Jaya Muthappa, Advisor Datti Cariappa, Members Gowri Mandanna, Sherry Belliappa, Sheela and others were present.
