Kodagu rehabilitation: CNC to hold 24-hour Satyagraha

October 3, 2018

Madikeri:  Codava National Council (CNC) will hold a 24-hour Satyagraha between Oct. 10 and 11 at Madikeri, urging the government to speedily rehabilitate Kodagu landslide victims in a dignified way.

In a press release, CNC President N.U. Nachappa has demanded a white paper on the donations received by the government, associations and voluntary organisations that have collected money for flood relief and rehabilitation in Kodagu. The white paper must have the mention of individuals, organisations that have opened accounts in the name of Kodagu relief fund and also account for the amount of money the government has received from them.

Claiming that neither compensation has been distributed nor any concrete measures taken for permanent rehabilitation, Nachappa has demanded the government to make public the blueprint of the proposed re-building works.
