KPCC engages 300 doctors for COVID care

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan said that the KPCC has engaged over 300 doctors for providing health care for COVID-19 positive patients across the State.

Announcing this at Congress Bhavan here yesterday, where he released a poster on ‘Arogya Hasta’ programme, Dhruvanarayan alleged that the State Government has miserably failed in handling the COVID-19 crisis. Pointing out that the Congress would train party workers to assist the doctors in COVID-19 care, he alleged that the State Government had indulged in rampant corruption in the purchase of medical equipment.

Stating that the trained party workers will visit households for a medical check up of residents, with all necessary precautionary and safety measures in place, the former MP said that the test reports will be submitted to the respective Taluk Health officers.

Appealing the party workers to make ‘Arogya Hasta’ programme a huge success, Dhruvanarayan came down heavily on the State Government for its failure to lend a helping hand for the distressed farmers, workers of the unorganised sector, ASHA workers and such others  in this hour of crisis.

In this backdrop, the Congress has come forward to help the people of the State through this programme, he added.

Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath said that party building has become a challenge in the post COVID-19 scenario. Noting that Hunsur too is turning out be a COVID-19 hotspot of late, he hit out at the BJP for spreading lies on the measures taken to combat the deadly pandemic. The Congress party workers should educate the public on the Government’s failures and must speak up for the farming community and the working class.

Varuna MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah and MLC R. Dharmasena too spoke.

H.D. Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu, former MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, leaders Sunil Bose, Latha Siddashetty, Hedathale Manjunath, Prakash Kumar and others were present.
