KPCC Member to file PIL against Expressway

June 30, 2023

Mandya: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Member T.S. Satyananda has said that he would file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court, alleging unscientific works of the 10-lane Mysuru – Bengaluru Expressway leading to accidents on a daily basis.

Satyananda told media yesterday that, the rate of accidents on the Expressway has increased by 50 percent, with several people losing their lives in hundreds of accidents. The reason is that, the Expressway is built flouting all the norms of Indian Road Congress (IRC), due to the intervention of a few people with vested interests. Though the works are unscientific, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is charging the toll according to its whims and fancies. Public using the road should complain to Consumer Forum.
