Mysore/Mysuru: KR MLA S.A. Ramdas asserted that ‘Namma Clinics’ will come up across the Constituency soon, as announced in this year’s State Budget. He was speaking at ‘Central and State Budget debate and ASHA workers felicitation programme’ organised at his office in Vidyaranyapuram here on Sunday.
Underlining the role of ASHA workers in serving the society during the COVID pandemic, Ramdas said that the importance of ASHA workers came to the limelight when the crisis broke out. Maintaining that the State Government has allotted a good amount of money for the health sector, the MLA said that measures have been taken for ensuring that the health services announced in the State Budget are introduced efficiently. He further said that many health initiatives such as Matruvandana, POSHAN and Integrated Health scheme have been implemented successfully in the constituency.
Lauding the services of ASHA workers in KR Constituency, he said that two ‘Mahila Swasthya Kendra’ (women well-being centres) will be opened in the Assembly segment.
Expressing concern that kidney ailments among the population is on the rise, Ramdas said that he has also planned to set up a Dialysis Unit under the PPP model. He called upon ASHA workers to also popularise Janaushadhi Kendras while on their daily work.
Observing that the Government has the responsibility to take care of the well-being of ASHA workers, the MLA said that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced honorarium of Asha workers to be increased by Rs. 1,000.
Several ASHA workers were honoured with a saree and tambula on the occasion. Taluk Health Officer (THO) Dr. Rajeshwari, Health Officers Mahadev, Yashoda, Asha and others were present.
