Krishna-Kuchela Bharatanatyam dance-drama tomorrow

Mysuru: An enchanting Bharatanatyam dance-drama titled Krishna-Kuchela will be presented tomorrow (May 24) at 5.30 pm at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar under the auspices of Nadavidyalaya, Mysuru. 

The feature is choreographed and performed by Vidu. Harshitha Subramanya and Vidu. Moulya Venkatesh, disciples of Guru Vidu. Mithra Naveen of Nadavidyalaya, Mysuru.

Sri Brahmachari Soumya Rupa Krishna Prabhu, Member of Executive Committee, ISCKON, Mysuru, H.R. Sundareshan President of Ganabharathi, Mysuru and Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, Director of Noopura Kalavidaru Samskruthika Trust, Mysuru, will be the chief guests.

 Guru Vidu. Mithra Naveen on Nattuvangam, Vid. M. S. Naveen on vocal, Vid. Nithish Ammanayya on flute and Vid. G. S. Nagaraj on mridanga will accompany the dancers in the musical ensemble.

The production brings to life the timeless tale of divine friendship and humility between Lord Krishna and Kuchela. Through graceful movements, expressive abhinaya, and rich classical tradition, the performance promises an immersive cultural experience for the rasikas and art-lovers.

Vidushi Harshitha Subramanya is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer with a Vidwat degree under the tutelage of Guru Vid. Mitra Naveen, Nadavidyalaya Mysuru, and a B-grade artiste accreditation from Doordarshan. She is also a senior-level Karnatak classical vocalist, known for her command over both rhythm and expression.

Alongside her artistic pursuits, Harshitha holds a degree in Architecture from the Wadiyar Centre for Architecture, Mysuru. She currently practices as an architect in Mysuru, blending creativity with precision in both her professions. Her unique combination of classical arts and design reflects a deep commitment to tradition and innovation.

Vidushi  Moulya Venkatesh is a trained classical artiste who has completed Vidwat in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Vid. Mitra Naveen, Nadavidyalaya Mysuru, and holds a Senior Grade in Karnatak music.

Deeply rooted in the Indian classical tradition, she continues to pursue her passion for the performing arts alongside her professional career. She holds an MBA and is currently working as an Associate – Hedge Fund Accounting at Apex Fund Service Bengaluru. Her journey reflects a harmonious blend of classical artistry and corporate acumen.
