Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah countered the media when he was asked the status regarding the pay scale for State Government employees.
To a pointed question by a television channel, he said, “Do you know the reason why it is delayed? You do not do your homework properly and ask questions. A committee has been formed to look into it. The Centre takes 10 years to review the pay scale and implement it, while the State Government implements the revised pay scales much earlier.”
The CM, who was in a visibly upset mood, was addressing a press conference here this morning at his residence in Ramakrishnanagar, and said that in the last three years there was drought. However, the water level in KRS has reached 100 ft for the first time this year. Hence, water will be released into the canals once in 15 days for the farmers to take up farming work, he added.
On Modi speech
Asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech today, as part of the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s address at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s centenary celebrations, being made to listen compulsorily for schools and colleges, he replied that he had read it only in newspapers and hence could not comment.
To another question on the delay in appointment of Vice- Chancellor to University of Mysore, he refused to react.
Siddharamaiah said that he was going to meet his school classmate Rajalakshmi who was studying with him from fifth to seventh standard as she had been inviting him since a long time to visit her house.
There were nearly 70-80 people waiting outside his house with applications regarding CM fund, jobs, land and other issues. He received all of them. Later, he left for Bengaluru from Mysuru airport.
