KSCA Inter-zonal U-16 tourney: Bangalore City gains first innings lead

Bangalore City XI gained the vital first innings lead against Mysore Zone in their drawn two-day encounter in the KSCA Inter-zonal U-16 cricket tournament 2017-18, played at the Aditya Global grounds here on Thursday and Friday respectively and gained a lead of 56-runs and secured 3 points.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Mysore Zone were bowled out for 178 in 72.2 overs. S. Suprith top scored with 54 (10x4s). Useful contributions came in from R. Hemanth (44), skipper Kruthik Krishna 23 (3x4s). Sanjay Krishnamurthy (three for 38) was the main wicket-taker for Bangalore City XI.

In reply, Bangalore City XI scored 224 for nine in 90 overs. Opener Lochan Gowda batted well to score 94 (10×4). Vivek Seshadri (38), M. Anitej (35), N.G. Aditya (23) and Manovear Singh (20). Medium-pacer Sibtain Ali impressed with four for 25. Leg-spinner Akhilesh Rao took two for 16.

In the second innings, Mysore Zone scored 184 for three in 47 overs. R. Hemanth (56 n.o, 10×4), Swaroop Kumar (31), Kruthik Krishna (39), K.S.Lankesh (29) and Suprith S (18 n.o) were the scorers.

Bangalore City secured 3 points from this drawn encounter, while Mysore Zone secured 1 point.
