KSOU a ray of hope for rural students: Addl. Regional Commissioner Shivaraju

Mysore/Mysuru: Additional Regional Commissioner Dr. P. Shivaraju has said that Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) which has got National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A-Plus Grade is one of the best Varsities in the State, producing finest of Officers who are the alumni, especially those from rural areas.

Shivaraju was speaking after inaugurating the four-day Administrative Training Programme organised by KSOU for its employees recently.

“I was also a student of this (KSOU), having earned my Degree and Post-Graduation which became instrumental in passing Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) exams. The Open Varsity has played a distinctive role in shaping the professional career of lakhs of people and also contributing to their personal growth,” said Shivaraju.

The staff of KSOU should get hands-on training in speedy disposal of files. The employees should also be provided required knowledge and skills, he added.

In his Presidential remarks, KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse said “Everybody should develop the mindset of adapting to the changes. It’s a competitive world and hence there will be changes in administrative set up in accordance with prevailing conditions. Without making anybody wait, let this training come handy in disposing off  the files swiftly.”

Registrar Prof. K.L.N. Murthy and Finance Officer Dr. A. Khader Pasha explained about the training programme.

Resource persons Dr. V. Ranganath, K.L. Prakash and Madhusudhan, Deans Prof. N. Lakshmi and Prof. M. Ramanatham Naidu, Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. K. B. Praveena, Prof. Mahadeva Murthy of e-Governance and Jainahalli Satyanarayana Gowda of KSOU Competitive Exams Training Centre were present.
