Mysuru: The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), which has received the recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to offer 17 non-technical courses, has extended the last date for admissions for the academic year 2018-19 till Oct. 20. The earlier deadline was Oct.1.
According to a press release from KSOU Registrar, a decision to this effect has been taken by the Varsity as a large number of students would enrol for the courses. KSOU had sought permission from UGC for extension of date for enrolment and the same was granted by the UGC.
It may be recalled, KSOU secured UGC recognition for a period of five years with Oct. 1 as deadline for admission. But with the prospectus and application forms for the admission process not yet printed, KSOU decided to go for campus enrolment rather than online admission.
The Varsity has decided to continue the admission process on all public holidays too till Oct.20. Students can remit their admission fee at KSOU and at all Regional Centres across the State.
