KSOU Journalism faculty suspended

Mysuru: Dr. Thejasvi Naviloor, Associate Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru, has been suspended on charges of inaction over formulation of syllabus.

Dr. Thejasvi, who functioned as the Department Head from Dec.2013 to Dec.2021 and as the Head of the Post-Graduate Studies from Feb.2019 till Feb.2022, is accused of inaction in formulating the syllabus that would come into effect from July 2021, as directed by the UGC.

He is also charged with absenting from the meetings held on Sept.23, Oct.29 and Dec.8, 2021 that were called to discuss the preparation of study materials as per CBCS (Choice Based Credit System). Now Dr. Thejasvi has been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty, negligence and also hurting the academic future of students, while holding a responsible position in KSOU.

KSOU Registrar Prof. Rajanna, acting on the direction of the Vice-Chancellor, has issued the order suspending Dr. Thejasvi Naviloor, it is learnt.
