KSRTC bus fare hike next week; Likely to be 18 percent

September 10, 2018

Mandya:  Even as rising fuel prices has affected the common man, the KSRTC is all set to hike bus fares from next week.

Speaking to press persons at Madanayakanahalli yesterday, Transport Minister D.C. Thammanna, giving a hint on the imminent fare hike, said that all the Four State Transportations (KSRTC, BMTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC) have been running under losses due to increasing prices of fuel and spare parts. As such, a fare hike is inevitable, he said and added that the fare hike would be anywhere around 18 percent.

The Minister also said that the fare hike would come into effect after holding another round of talks with KSRTC officials.
