About three days back, myself along with my wife waited in front of Honda Showroom situated opposite B.M. Hospital on Hunsur Road to travel to Virajpet, Kodagu, as we have been doing since ages.

Though there isn’t a semblance of bus shelter, still almost all KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses plying this route from the main suburban bus stand used to stop and pick the passengers standing in a makeshift shelter.

On this particular day, as a KSRTC bus on its way to Hassan had stopped in the said place to pick the passengers, the morning bus which was on its way to Virajpet just bypassed the parked bus and sped away as the driver couldn’t find a space to stop the bus leaving us the hapless passengers waiting for the particular bus in lurch.

We just vented our desperate rage in the air and waited for another bus, as all bus travellers in India are used to.

My plea to the KSRTC officials is to make it compulsory for all KSRTC buses to give a halt at this particular place and to provide a semblance of a bus shelter in the particular place, which will benefit ordinary travellers like us who rely on KSRTC transport.
