KSRTC earns Rs. 5.59 cr. in a day on Deepavali

Bengaluru: KSRTC has earned a whopping revenue of Rs. 5.59 crore in a day, cashing in on the Deepavali festival rush on Nov. 3.

Following series of holidays connected with Kannada Rajyotsava and Deepavali festival from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, followed by Sunday on Nov. 3, the number of passengers travelling in KSRTC buses to reach their hometown and return to Bengaluru, from across the State was significantly high. On Nov. 3 alone, a whopping 85,462 seats were booked online generating a revenue of Rs. 5.59 crore to KSRTC. Previously during the fag end of October, KSRTC had sold 67,033 tickets in a day.

Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) that also operated buses for the festive season along with KSRTC contributed to the revenue.
